Fun With My Sewing Machine

"Where have you been???" you may be asking. Yes, I realize it has been 4 weeks (wow, seriously?) since my last post, so I am posting a few pictures of what has been occupying my time. That is besides feeding, chasing after, dressing, undressing, bathing, wiping, etc., etc.... you get the picture.

My favorite endeavor so far: the necktie shirt. I am still in process of making Jude's (it is hard to find a plain onesie that is more t-shirt, less undershirt -- if you know a good place to get one, let me know!).

Secondly, and yes, Daniel has sufficiently made fun of me for this one... babylegs a.k.a. leg warmers. I love the practicality of these, even if they were originally designed for girls. Just slap those puppies on and you've got instant leg coverage with easy diaper changes. Also a fairly easy project since they are simply reconstructed tube socks. Soon I will make it to Target for more funky styles to cover those chunky thighs.

Next, I couldn't pass up making Jude some cute pants out of this black and white rocker-looking material. Of course, had to come up with a coordinating shirt.

And lastly... this sweet bird mobile. My current project. I have one bird done, as you can see in the picture below, with more birds cut out of the fabric shown. Check out the pictures below this one for the finished product from www.spoolsewing.com. I love it!

I've got some more posts on the horizon... check back soon!

First off, I love the shirts. Can't wait for your help when I attempt to make some for my nephews! Secondly, the bird mobile is awesome. It would be great in our future playroom... And lastly, the smiling picture of Jude is gorgeous. What a cutie! Glad you're back!

I love your tie shirts...very cute. We are big babylegs fans. Ellie has about 4 pairs already and we even have a pair for our new little guy. Check out their website for more choices...they have more boy options on there too.

Cerissa you are so crafty!! I love it! I LOVE the bird mobile... I WANT THAT in my nursery. At the shower my girlfriends in CA threw me, they had those SAME birds that they sewed all over as the decor in a little "nesting" theme. SO sweet. I'd never seen the pic of the mobile before, but now I'm totally inspired. I'm doing this!!! Thanks for posting those pics! And love the tie shirts... your boys are all so darn cute!! :)

Very cute stuff! I've got a question though...how do you find the time?? :) When my third was a baby, all I could do was just barely keep up. Good job Cerissa...you're doing awesome!

Oh I love those birds. How creative!!! You did well making those pants. I made shorts one time for me that were not made with hips in mind and I couldn't get them on. What a disaster. I hope you guys are doing well!!! I have fun keeping in touch through your blog. You have such a cute family!!! Your sister has really grown up too. Say hi to your mom for me. :-)
Love chrissy Daniels
